The 116th Annual Meeting of the Vermont Botanical and Bird Club will be held at Castleton State College in Castleton, Vermont from Thursday, June 9 - Sunday, June 12, 2011. Check-in will be on Thursday, June 9 at 4:00 PM at Audet House.
We will visit areas in west-central Vermont for birding and botanizing including but not limited to: Helen W. Buckner Memorial Preserve, Hubbardton River Clayplain Forest Natural Area, High Pond Preserve, Lake Bomoseen/Hubbardton Marsh IBA (Important Birding Area), West Rutland Marsh IBA.
Castleton State College has added many new features to its campus, including a newly renovated Campus Center that has many green energy features. We will stay in a semi-residential house, Audet House, on campus that has air-conditioning, wifi, an elevator and a full kitchen. We will have evening programs in the 1787 Room of the Campus Center. We will have meals in the Fireside Cafe in the Campus Center. The Club last visited Castleton State College in 1994.
